VIDEO: Going out with a Bang, Making Hedy’s Warm Apple Crostada with Walnut and Feta Crumbles, Caramel Sauce, Salted Caramel Ice Cream, and Sweet Cream

See if you can find the Kellogg's Pop Tarts hiding in the pictures below... The first to correctly locate them and comment gets a bag full of Hedy's version as a New Year's present.

Today was a great day. Talk about ending the year on the right foot! Bruni had us blushing, then Heidi dropped in with a clever surprise for Michael and Hedy… Could it get any better?

It sure can, for those dining with us tonight!

Check out the sweet special.

Why not welcome the New Year with this Warm Apple Crostada all moist and crumbly, with salted caramel ice cream melting its way into your memory bank?

Thanks to all our friends and family for a great year!  See you in 2010!

All Hot and Buttered Rum

The chill is on. Heat up with this classic rum cocktail.

A guest blogger for this installment of Michael’s online column for Miami New Times, Michael’s Genuine Bar Manager Ryan Goodspeed shares a recipe suitable for the recent dip in temperature. This Massachusetts native began his career in the bar business in Santa Barbara, cutting his teeth at Relaix and Chateau, San Ysidro Ranch; the infamous live music Brit-Pub, The Press Room; old school speakeasy, Jimmy’s Oriental Gardens; and late night dining spot, RoY, where he did his first classic cocktail menu.  You can find Goodspeed’s most recent specialty concoctions, like the Newgroni, Sombrita, and Kimchi Bloody Mary, available for Sunday brunch at Michael’s Genuine, where he’s been behind the bar since January 2008.  For his Classic Hot Buttered Rum recipe, click here.
