Although you wouldn’t know it today, winter finally was in the air last week here in Miami. A dip below 70ºF can only mean one thing in South Florida — it’s time to dust off those cardigans! @MGFD_MIA, it also means the courtyard is the place to kick back and take it all in, especially on a gorgeous Sunday. And as it’s time to refresh my stock of beauty shots on file from our menus with the change of seasons, where better to begin than brunch? Here is a smattering of savory and sweet dishes from my shoot yesterday; some new, and some old favorites, they all warm in a way cashmere can’t, from Florida Shrimp & Grits with house smoked bacon, escarole, and roasted tomato to Niman Ranch Lamb Chorizo with black beans, local chiles, avocado, and hand-formed flatbread.
