On the Menu Now: Local Watermelon Gazpacho and 2005 Vina de Moya Mencia by the Glass

Some new things on the menu tonight are perfect for cooling off from this HEAT!

Got lots of local watermelons in, so they’re all over the menu.

The watermelon gazpacho is a refreshing take on the original — a silky smooth base of pureed tomato and watermelon that’s swimming with cubes of the fruit, Florida rock shrimp, avocado, cucumber, mint, cilantro, and red onion for texture. It’s all topped with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (small/10.)

Our House Salad always features… well… what’s in house.  Right now it’s SWANK farms lettuce, local watermelon, Teena’s Pride cucumbers, French feta, a curried granola made in house with pumpkin seeds, and lemon vinaigrette (small/9.)

Vina de Moya’s 2005 Mencia from Bierzo, Spain is a new wine we just tasted in pre-shift. It’s light to medium bodied with red fruit, a little spice, and an easy going finish. This style of wine is great during the summer — very drinkable and a great price (glass/7.)

A perfect match for the Mencia is our latest Homemade Linguini. Taking influence from the land and sea, octopus and mussels meet an heirloom tomato sauce topped with piave vecchio cheese (medium/18.)
