We’re packed up and ready to board our flights to JFK (Michael, Hedy, Prudent, and Pete) and LGA (me) on our New York City Wine & Food Festival adventure.
Having participated many times in its sister show on South Beach, we are anxious to see what Manhattan has in store for us! A Big Apple thank you to Lee Brian Schrager for the special honor of representing the whole of the Miami dining scene! We are thrilled.
Here’s our schedule through our return on Sunday. And don’t fret if you’re not in New York… Lesley Abravanel, editor of Miami Eater, has kindly offered me the opportunity to be a special correspondent again! We look forward to doing her proud.
Wednesday: Arrive and check into hotel; team dinner at DBGB.
Thursday: Visit Great Performances, our prep facility for both the Blue Moon Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray and Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Brunch at Norwoods hosted by Camana Bay. Michael also visits the Good Housekeeping Institute kitchen to demo Crab Salad with ruby grapefruit, pickled radish, and pink peppercorn vinaigrette — his first face-to-face meeting to promote Michael’s Genuine Food: Down-to-Earth Cooking for People who Love to Eat. Dinner at Lincoln, followed by Chelsea Market After Dark hosted by Alton Brown (attending as Festival guests.)
Friday: NYU film student (and MGFD family member) Emily Dalmas joins the team to document Burger Bash prep and event festivities (can’t wait to see her video!)
Saturday: Prep begins at Great Performances for Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Brunch at Norwoods hosted by Camana Bay.
Sunday: Heard that 6:00 a.m. call time! Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Brunch at Norwoods hosted by Camana Bay… Return home!
