February 15: Michael’s debut cookbook Michael’s Genuine Food: Down-to-Earth Cooking for People Who Love to Eat, hit store shelves yesterday. In fact, half of this post was typed board a wifi-enabled (wohoo!) American Airlines flight to New York Laguardia. Let the release week of fun begin!

February 16: Today Michael visits Martha Stewart Living on Sirius Satellite Radio and will be live on-air from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. EST on Sirius 112 and XM 157 (caller hotline is 866-675-6675 to reach him live or via Twitter @MarthaRadio.)  Right after, we head downtown to tape an appearance on MARTHA, the domestic icon’s television show, which will air Friday.  Michael will prepare two dishes from the cookbook, Falafel with Tahini Sauce and Crispy Fish Salad.

February 17: With the help of Hedy Goldsmith, Bradley Herron, Eric Larkee, and I, Michael presents his third James Beard House dinner (sold out) with a menu out of the book.

February 18:  Michael’s appearance on MARTHA airs at 10:00 a.m. EST on the Hallmark Channel (go to marthastewart.com where there is a zipcode/Hallmark channel locator.)  In the afternoon, we visit AOL’s offices, and then celebrate in the evening at The Harrison with Michael’s friend Jimmy Bradley.  The James Beard Award-winning chef has invited Michael into the kitchen to incorporate dishes from his new cookbook onto the dinner menu including Persimmon and Pomegranate Salad with crumbled ricotta and pomegranate vinaigrette; Stout-Braised Clams with potato, fennel, and bacon; Mahogany Black Cod with whipped parsnips, baby bok choy, and mustard sauce; Slow-Roasted Pork Shoulder with pickled onions; and the one and only Bulletproof Manhattan. Make a reservation for dinner or just stop by for a drink or two and a toast!

February 19: After appearing on the CBS Early Show’s Chef on a Shoestring segment at 8:45 a.m. EST, Michael heads back to Miami for a Cookbook Potluck Party at Books & Books Coral Gables. The interactive event includes a presentation and Q&A with the new author, as well as a feast of 20+ cookbook recipes from Grilled Leg of Lamb to Roasted Sweet Onions prepared at home and presented in the courtyard by his friends and family. The Cabarete and Cherry-Rosemary Soda will be served complimentary by Bar Manager Ryan Goodspeed, in addition to the beer, wine, and soda for sale at Books & Books’ cash bar.

February 24: South Beach Wine & Food Festival kicks off with the Amstel Light Burger Bash Hosted by Rachael Ray (sold out) at 7:00 p.m.  This time, it’s Genuine Bacon Egg & Cheeseburger with heirloom tomato chutney, white cheddar, quail egg on a potato bun, and a ridunkulous side of fried cheese grits.

February 25: Michael will be cooking in the restaurant all day. Come say hi!

February 26: Visit the Grand Tasting Tents at 11:30 a.m. where Michael will be selling/signing the cookbook until 12:15 p.m.  At night, he’ll be back at the restaurant for Wine + Dine + Design (sold out) at 7:00 p.m. with Iron Chef Michael Symon.

February 27: The Biscayne Lady Yacht sets sail at 12:00 p.m. for the Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Brunch at Sea with Jonathan Waxman with tons of goodies from both chefs and of course Executive Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith.   Books & Books will also be on-board with plenty of books, and Michael will have almost as many Sharpies!

March 4: Sous Chef Matt joins Chef in South Carolina for the Charleston Wine & Food Festival (great website guys and gals,) to put on a dinner for 80, one of many happening around the city that evening during the Festival’s Friday Dine Around event. This one, hosted by underground dining group “Guerilla Cuisine” and Charleston chef Kevin Johnson is special: In typical Guerrilla Cuisine fashion, the location of the dinner is unknown until 24 hours in advance. Tickets still available.

March 5: Michael demos Falafel with Tahini Sauce at 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the SCE&G Celebrity Kitchen Tent, followed by a book signing.

March 10: De Gustibus Cooking School Great Chefs Series at Macy’s Herald Square from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Tickets still available.

March 11 to 12: Publix demos in Plantation and Boca Demo. More details to come.

March 21: Appearance at Seafood Show in Boston for Blue Star Foods. More details to come.

March 23 to 26: Michael visits Grand Cayman for a signing at Books & Books Camana Bay and special dinner service at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman highlighting book recipes.  More details to come.

March 27: Dinner in Paradise (sold out) with chef Frank Jeannetti of Essensia at The Palms Hotel & Spa and Dewey LoSasso of The Forge, and wines by Mattabella Vineyards. Books will be available for sale on-site… and Michael will be signing!
