Stamping Out Cancer, One Sweet Pint at a Time

Hedy’s been busy (as usual!) with her first cookbook in production, shoots in New York City for Cooking Channel’s Unique Sweets – the most recent of which occurred a few days ago — and her responsibilities as executive pastry chef at MGFD.  You’ll be pleased to know you can also catch her on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m. presenting dessert at Chefs for a Cure, a benefit hosted by chef Paula Dasilva at 1500° in the
Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach to support the American Association for Cancer Research.

Pints in Hedy's mezzanine freezer, ready for their stamps. She'll work with pastry assistant Trew to pull the last flavor today.

She’s doing Local Peach and Blueberry Crostada with Brown Butter Hazelnut
Creme, served family style with – get thispints of Sweet Local Corn, Sweet Basil, and Roasted White Chocolate Ice Creams, finished with salted caramel sauce and creme fraiche sweetened with local honey. Blocks of bittersweet chocolate will be on the tables for guests to chip for themselves. If that’s not reason enough to attend, I don’t know what is.  For tickets, call 305.674.5594.
