Hedy loves New York, and New York loves Hedy! Our executive pastry chef has been shuttling back and forth these days shooting her expert contribution to Unique Sweets on Cooking Channel, and has five freshly-baked episodes airing in July starting this Sunday (also her birthday!)  To top it all off, Hedy will be holding down the MGFD fort at the New York City Wine & Food Festival this fall, at two killer-sounding, first-time events — Red Rooster Dinner with Marcus Samuelsson, Andrea Reusing & Hedy Goldsmith (Thursday, September 29) where she’ll serve family-style Granny Smith Apple + Feta Crostadas with Pints of Black Licorice, Crème Fraiche and Fig-Pistachio Ice Creams, Roasted White Chocolate Crumbles, and Salted Caramel Sauce and FRIED Hosted by Tyler Florence (Friday, September 30) where Individual Peanut Butter Pies in an Oreo-Pretzel Crumb Crust served with Bacon Peanut Brittle will no doubt steal the show [Take me, take me!]  She’s in amazing company for both — Blue Ribbon Restaurants, City Grocery’s John Currence, Dévi’s Suvir Saran, Lantern Restaurant’s Andrea Reusing, and our very own Michelle Bernstein, among others.
