New Late Night Happy Hour is Last Call for Genuine Burgers!

The Juicy Schwartzy Burger – $25 at both Miami and Cleveland locations available all day on Wednesday, September 18 (National Cheeseburger Day)

It’s no secret we love a great cheeseburger at MGFD.  We’ve lost track of how many lists and rankings there are corroborating this, but one thing is for sure… the people have spoken and we’re giving them what they want.  Double meat and a whole lot more! National Cheeseburger Day kicks off the following new ways to enjoy burger favorites in Miami and Cleveland, beginning Wednesday, September 18:

LETTING THE GOOD JUICE ROLL FOR NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAY: Enjoy a special cheeseburger all day long inspired by Chef’s love of juice in all its forms. The Juicy Schwartzy will be available at lunch and dinner in Miami and Cleveland for $25 and features our house made pastrami, thousand island dressing, pickled red cabbage and melty gruyere sandwiched between a butter-griddled brioche roll.  Yum! This burger is all about the meat, 3 oz. of beautifully brined beef brisket sizzling on the searing-hot griddle beside an 8 oz. house ground black angus patty (50/50 brisket and chuck).

LAST CALL, MIAMI! Last two hours before close? Take a juicy bite out of it!  Enjoy an all new late night happy hour celebrating our favorite burgers. Monday – Thursday guests can join us at the bar from 9-11PM for the restaurant’s signature Genuine Bacon Cheeseburger as well as a rotating special burger only available during the Last Call window. Purchase includes Happy Hour pricing on drinks (1/2 off cocktails, wine and beer)!

WINE DOWN CLEVELAND: Wine Wednesday the juicy way! All guests dining at the restaurant on Wednesdays now enjoy half price bottles from our wine list all day long. The Genuine Burger and a Wednesday-only rotating special burger, beginning with the Juicy Schwartzy, come with happy hour pricing on drinks at the bar from 4:30PM until close!

Throwing Back a Milestone 10 Year Celebration | Classic Dishes Hit MGFD’s Menus Thursday & We All Toast a Longer, Food-Inclusive Genuine Happy Hour Next Week

new-michaelsgenuine-com

A cleaner, mobile-optimized michaelsgenuine.com will greet you on Thursday.

mg_mgfd10-presenter_happy-hoursSince Chef’s flagship, Michael’s Genuine® Food & Drink, first opened in Miami’s Design District on March 13, 2007, locals and tourists alike have come to embrace and crave its refreshing combination of laid-back, bistro atmosphere and straightforward food emphasizing fresh, local ingredients. 10 years later, it’s time to celebrate what Michael Schwartz does best.

Enjoy a taste of Genuine’s beginning as we highlight classic dishes from the 2007 opening menu this Thursday, March 9 until anniversary day on Monday, March 13, and for the first time, beginning Tuesday, March 14, the restaurant launches a food-friendly Genuine Happy Hour, doubling its length to three hours on weekdays from 4:30-7:30pm at the Bar and adding 1/2 off oysters and snacks to complement 1/2 off cocktails, wine and beer.  The celebration would not be complete without a Genuine precedent that throws back to what this restaurant is really all about — gathering good company around good vibes and thoughtfully-made food and drink. They just go hand in hand.

“When you put everything into something and your family and staff depends on you to make it work, it’s an incredible responsibility,” reflects Schwartz. “We have always cooked the food we want to eat and embraced the freedom in that even though it hasn’t been easy. We have so much to be thankful for, especially our guests who have stood by us for so long and believed in our passion for putting better product on the plate. I’ve always said the secret to good food is… good food. And that’s what Genuine is all about.”

Meat Us Wednesdays at Cypress Tavern for Porterhouse, Pots & Port

fullsizerender-68Especially in Miami, especially when it refuses to cool off (patience!), we crave the winter vibes.  We break out the brown liquors, reds with structure, and yes, the meat.  It just feels like the right thing to do and indulging is always more fun with friends.  So gather some and head to Cypress Tavern because Wednesdays are now about upping the steak dinner game in a big, sharable way.

Beginning next week until March 29, our guests can enjoy the restaurant’s signature large plate off the wood grill, a 32 oz. Dry-Aged Porterhouse, with a choice of two sides – Grilled Asparagus, Thrice Cooked Fries Whipped Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts or Leeks Gratin – with two glasses of Michael and Eric’s Nebbiolo blend with Jim Clendenen, Lua Rossa No. 4, for $89. $22 more will get a full bottle, a glass more each to go the distance.  Because that’s what we would do.

ct_meat-us-wednesday-menuChef Schwartz also recommends aficionados handle it like he would, with surf.  Add a Wood Grilled Giant Prawn (PA) for the table, basted with garlic butter, seared off to a tender char and served with a cheek lemon to squeeze, the essential bright cut.

Round out the experience with a healthy dram of Smith Woodhouse 10 yr Tawny Port to savor with Cypress’ decadent Chocolate Pot de Crème complete with soft whipped cream and sugar-toasted brioche for $18.  Says beverage manager Amanda Fraga, “Dessert wines are kind of magic.  When paired properly they can really enhance a dessert by adding a new layer of flavor. Here we add notes of caramel notes to the chocolate.”  Brainer, no brainer.

To reserve a table, email reservations@cypresstavern.com or call 305.520.5197. $5 Design District Valet is available, as well as street parking in the city lot in between 37th and 38th street. Full menus and more information are available at cypresstavern.com.
