Buck’s Goes Poolside for the Summer, Beginning with Biscayne Bay Brewing Co.

July Bucks Beer Garden Flyer

This Thursday, July 2 we are diving head first into summer with our first Buck’s Beer Garden Poolside at The Raliegh Hotel Miami Beach! We’re kicking it off with Biscayne Bay Brewing Company and their divinely refreshing drafts. We’ve also added a few pool games, so bring your swim suit!

Biscayne Bay Brewing Co. is located in Doral, where they have a 15 barrel brew house, which means they can brew about 465 gallons of frothy amber goodness at one time. The BBBC owners have a background in politics as well as a deep love of beer, when they traveled the country and noticed craft breweries popping up every where, they decided to set up shop at home. The Doral brew house officially opened in August 2014 and they are planning to open a tap room in the next few months. I spoke with Tito, brand ambassador at BBBC, who said the brewers really make his job easy. “The beers speak for themselves. A great brewer is like a great chef! There are so many different types of yeast, hops and grains and BBBC brewers know how to make the most of them. It’s incredible what they can do.”

BBBC Logo

Find BBBC on tap at Buck’s and at the hotel all month, check out the line up:

1513 Golden ale
Miami pale ale
Biscayne Bay Saison
La Colada Porter
Double nine IPA
Pequeña habana pilsner

The Double Nine is a Rocky Mountain Pale Ale “so big, so bold” BBBC boasts, “it deserves its own snifter.” A nod to 18th Century ship imbibers, this IPA does not mess around. Striking a balance between a malty foundation and grapefruit finish, this is the ideal poolside brew. Using a variety of hops BBBC brings us a beer with “a pungent citrus-driven hop infusion.” And… we’re sold! See you this Thursday and again on July 16, poolside!

Due South for a Summer Buck’s Blowout

Buck's Flyer

This Thursday, June 4, is the first of our two June Summer Blowout Buck’s events with Due South Brewing Co. at The Raleigh Miami Beach!  A favorite on our Harry’s Pizzeria tap since Caramel Cream Ale first slipped into our pint glasses, Due South is located in Boynton Beach where they have a 15,000 square foot, 15 barrel brewing facility and tap room complete with giant Jenga and cornhole… a match made in beer garden heaven!

ColoeDue South Brewing Co. started as a homebrewing hobby on Mike and Jodi Halker’s back porch.  It’s pretty cool to see how this homegrown company has expanded since opening the brewery in May of 2012. You can even find their cans on grocery store shelves across the state, with Honey Vanilla Wheat debuting in this format this summer! Honey Vanilla Wheat is a light bodied American wheat ale with a sunny golden color and it utilizes freshly cut Madagascar Vanilla beans and South Florida local Palmetto Honey. A mildly floral nose carries over into the taste with bready like malt notes and a slight sweetness. The crisp finish quenches your thirst in a nature as satisfactory as a cannonball into the pool on a 95 degree day.  Find it on tap at Buck’s in the following line up:

Caramel Cream Ale
Cafe Ole Espresso Porter
Honey Vanilla Wheat
Cat 5 IPA
Mexican Standoff Imperial Porter
Bodacious Blonde Belgian Pale Ale

Duck, Duck, Pork: Harry’s BBQ Night Menu is Here!

HP BBQ Night_menu_5.8Make a run for it!  With summer in our sights, it’s time to roll out the smoker again at Michael Schwartz’s casual neighborhood joint in Miami’s Design District and welcome a local brewery to pour for dinner. Harry’s Pizzeria welcomes Wynwood Brewing Co. for a night of local beer and BBQ in Miami’s Design District on Tuesday, May 19 beginning at 6:30 p.m.  We now have a mouthwatering menu certainly fit to chase with beer!

We are also excited to have a guest chef join us important to the story of Michael’s Genuine Home Brew. Chef Leonardo Maurelli of Central in Montgomery, Alabama was there when Michael first met Back Forty Beer Company at a 2011 Auburn University event for tornado relief. A native of the Republic of Panama, Leonardo shares his unique multicultural take on traditional southern dishes and cuisine. We know he will bring the BBQ mojo on a collaborative menu with Harry’s own chef de cuisine Daniel Ramirez!

Click here for tickets ($68 includes it all!) — an indoor and outdoor stationed menu of BBQ, sides and dessert, all you care to drink Wynwood beer (special treatments, too!) from our counter, tax and gratuity. We love mixing it up at Harry’s Pizzeria and couldn’t wait to start the summer off with some BBQ.  See you there!

Buck’s Brewery Alert: May is for MIA!

#bucksbeergarden

BucksFlyer03After our closing April event with Funky Buddha Brewery last night, we are excited to announce that May welcomes Doral’s MIA Brewing to the Buck’s Beer Garden & Bonfire dance floor! With its TV-lined bar, tropical outdoor beer garden and tasting room, the MIA operation is dialed in and getting its product out there into the community.  You may have tried its Miami Weiss at Harry’s Pizzeria, and now The Raleigh will add it to the White Bar’s tap next month, along with MIA IPA.

“We always enjoy participating in beer gardens,” Eric Rodriguez, Territory Sales Manager for Most Wanted Beverages, MIA’s distributor in which owner Eddie Leon is  limited partner. “Talking to locals and introducing them to our beer is always fun. It’s a great way to interact with the consumer and leave them with a memory of our beers. They seem to appreciate the brand more once we get to interact with them. The craft beer community welcomed us with open arms. A lot of the guys at MIA have known other brewers and reps from working in the industry so we’re all friends. The locals have shown us a lot of love as well.”

Taking place among a lush tropical setting behind the hotel’s legendary pool, Buck’s Beer Garden & Bonfire invites locals to re-acquaint themselves with our favorite hotel on South Beach. Guests have flexibility with an a la carte, “pay-as-you-go” format purchasing carnival-style tickets at a booth for food, beer, including Michael’s Genuine Home Brew, and wine (one ticket equals $1.) Enjoy our special valet rate with Buck’s cashier validation of $5 per car, subject to availability. Tickets are reusable at future events.  As for Rodriguez, he prefers grilled or BBQ’d beer garden fare in one hand, like a Buck’s bratwurst with kraut and spicy mustard, and the MIA IPA in the other.  MIA will also tap its Pilsner, Tropical Lager and two 2 TBD styles.  We love surprises!  See you on May 7 at 6PM.
