So Happy Together: Margherita Meets Margarita — and a New Full Bar — at Genuine Pizza Atlanta

You know it’s going to be a good week when Monday means more than one kind of Margy is in the picture.  We are excited to now offer a refreshing line up of cocktails at Genuine Pizza Atlanta!  After the successful introduction of Sangria this summer, it was only a matter of time before the first of our pizzerias got a full bar program going to complement this wine-based favorite.  Michael collaborated with director of pizza operations Paolo Bazzani — bar manager emeritus of Michael’s Genuine Pub on Quantum of the Seas — on a simple yet well rounded list inspired by the drinks section of his forthcoming pizza cookbook.  The result? A down-to-earth selection that checks all your thirsty boxes, each for $12.

BULLETPROOF MANHATTAN

Michael’s original cocktail at MGFD is as satisfying as it gets, with a touch of class.

Four Roses Bourbon known for its balance and quality meets rosemary-cherry syrup and fresh lemon to cut the sweetness and rein it in just enough.

A rosemary sprig to spear cherry jewels makes it special.

WATERMELON SPRITZ

This is a  twist on the classic aperif we like for winding down the evening or perking up a lunch date.

Aperol joins St. Germain elderflower liqueur, juicy watermelon and fizzy prosecco.

Goes by “Cabarete” at Michael’s Genuine® and is a kicked up alternative to our sangria — and just as refreshing!

SPICY RITA

Nothing hits the spot and says festive like a margarita.  Jose Cuervo Silver, grapefruit and muddled jalapeño shaken over ice with a spicy rim that keeps you going back for more.

Especially yummy with a Margherita pie and polenta fries.

Or put a Spicy Pepperoni pizza in check by matching two bold favorites for a taste explosion.

THE DOCTOR

We love a good beer cocktail, especially when gin is involved.

Whether a full on prescription or a direct order, Boodles Gin, apple juice and Dr. Robot sour beer cures all that ales you and then some.

Nice to drink local, and try something new, too.  Enjoy, then chase with a Dr. Robot.

GENUINE MULE

Absolut vodka, lime and ginger beer just tastes better in a fancy copper mug!

Pepperoni Pizza? Yes, Please.

March Madness! What’s more important in the world of pizza than the pepperoni pie?  It’s the ultimate expression of the iconic American pizzeria.  The go-to slice.  What you think of when you think pizza. It’s what the people want who love a perfectly unadulterated pie, like we do.  So after much trial and little error to get the toppings combination just right, we are introducing our first Pepperoni to the pizza menu at Genuine Pizza™ and Harry’s Pizzeria® effective today.  Not such a crazy idea, after all…

Spicy Pepperoni is now available for $16 at all locations in Atlanta and Miami with tomato sauce, chile oil, fontina, mozzarella and arugula.  The magic mix honors the original in its pure form taking it to the next level with a blend of mozzarella and fontina cheeses for just the right creaminess and stretch, some chile oil-flecked tomato sauce for a little punch and leafy, peppery and crisp arugula that melts into the gooey bed of deliciousness.

This pizza is all about the beautiful Niman Ranch product at the end of the day, sliced to just the right thickness for a crispy, juicy bake. Took us long enough!  Visit genuinepizza.com and harryspizzeria.com for locations and hours near you and to order the Pepperoni Pizza online for takeout or delivery through one of our partners including Uber Eats, Amazon Restaurants and Door Dash.

Genuine Pizza Opens First Atlanta Location on Friday, January 5 in Buckhead

Genuine Pizza will open its first Atlanta location on Friday at the main entrance of Phipps Plaza in the heart of Buckhead. This will be our first pizzeria out of state and with a private dining room… as well as our first restaurant where it snows!  We’ve been working so hard to get open that somehow these little things are just astounding in their magnitude when you have a brief pause to reflect on them.  The team on the ground is working just as tirelessly to bring this place to life from front and back of house. The goal is to exude that Genuine Culture we know and love at home.

Originating in Miami, where we have now for casual pizza restaurants, the idea is about on honest ingredients, creative toppings combinations, and a thoughtful experience from dough to table.  Genuine Pizza Atlanta looks like the fraternal twin of Aventura, with a menu anchored by 12 hand-formed pizzas featuring a tender, quick-fired crust and snacks, soups, salads, entrées and dessert to make a meal around it. The restaurant also offers a list of wines that work great with food, as well as Atlanta craft beers. Signature items include Short Rib Pizza; Polenta Fries with spicy ketchup; Warm Brussels Sprouts and Burrata; and Chocolate Chunk Cookie, warmed in the oven to order. Every day there is a Daily pizza special and a soup of the day.

“We are passionate about our favorite food and can’t wait to bring our genuine approach to the Atlanta community,” says Michael Schwartz. “We’re introducing classic dishes from our flagship location while embracing our new Atlanta community as we fold in seasonal offerings, local beer selections and gluten-free options.”

Genuine Pizza is located at 3500 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30326 in Phipps Plaza and opens with lunch and dinner beginning Friday.  Hours of operation are Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., Friday to Saturday 11 – 12 a.m., and Sunday 12 – 10 p.m.  Reservations are not necessary.
