In its third release of production, Lua Rossa (est. 2013) is our red blend with winemaker Jim Clendenen, a partnership between simpatico creatures who find inspiration in good food and adventures in good company. Sommelier and Director of Licensing Operations Eric Larkee captains the endeavor with Michael and Tamara Schwartz and Brand Director Jackie Sayet. The annual trip to the west coast begins with a good dose of fresh air from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara PCH-style and a visit to the motley crew at Au Bon Climat and Qupé wineries to catch up with Chef’s good old buddy. After taking in some Sideways inspiration at the Hitching Post and a good deal of vintages with a home-cooked feast at Rancho La Cuna, a wine of extraordinary character results — a little different each year depending on what Jim’s got squirreled away in those mystery barrels! The current release, Lua Rossa no. 3 is poured at all The Genuine Hospitality Group restaurants, including aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class at 150 Central Park and Quantum Class at Michael’s Genuine® Pub.
